Waking up to Joy

Today, we begin to wake up in a new way.

All month, we've been waking up from the dull slumber separating us from the truth and meaning of our lives. We've been experiencing each day that wake-up call asking us to show up and be present.

Still, the process of teshuvah can also feel like a dream, or to some a nightmare. We can get pulled in deeper and deeper, always remembering one more thing we screwed up, one more thing to apologize for, or at least feel guilty about.

We forget that the world is beautiful

A tarot card. The bottom of the card reads "The Sun". A figure stands in silhouette against a yellow background. They hold a pennant, with sunflowers to the left. Their face is upturned toward the sun, taking up half the image.

Today, our wake-up call is for that second layer of dreaming. We've awoken once, to watch our Towers crumble, and dive into the depths of our shadows. But as it turns out, we're still sleeping, unaware of the beauty surrounding us.

Still, all is very nearly accomplished. We've experienced healing and renewal, hope for the future. We've integrated these lessons and prepared to bring them back into our daily lives. We're ready to wake up again.

If you haven't done this work yet, the Sun card is calling from your future, enticing you toward its warmth and peace.

Now, as we awaken, we can appreciate the light of the world with a childlike joy. We carry our standard out into the sunlight, fully prepared for the Judgment to come. We are ready, completely aware, and we do not fear to be seen. We can surrender to the experience.

Do you feel lighter today than you did 26 days ago?

Do you feel lighter today than you did 26 days ago?

We've done all that we can this month, this year. The light allows no secrets to stay hidden, but we've examined our hearts and unearthed them all anyway. We have gone through our inner darkness, forgiven and atoned where we are able, and have acknowledged with compassion those places where we are unable.

We have mined the very depths of our souls and selves, and we are no longer afraid of what the sunlight will show, what Judgment will reveal. We know it will ultimately lead us to completion of this cycle, a sense of wholeness and peace that opens up space for whatever comes next.

We can bask in the sunlight now, and simply enjoy its cleansing glow.

We are free.
